GEC and DNV Join Forces (June 1, 2008)
Global Energy Concepts (GEC) is pleased to announce that we are joining forces with Det Norske Veritas (DNV) to create a dominant new player in the international wind energy market. 

The new company, DNV Global Energy Concepts (DNV-GEC), will become a part of the Cleaner Energy group of DNV. It will continue to operate from our offices in Seattle, Washington, and Lowell, Massachusetts, and will collaborate closely with DNV’s existing wind energy team in Copenhagen, London, and Oslo. 

GEC is a global leader in the wind energy industry and its employees have been providing technical services to the industry for more than 20 years. In the last three years, GEC conducted direct work on wind projects representing more than half of the new installed capacity of wind energy in the U.S. Our role in these projects varies from initial site selection and wind resource assessment to power performance testing and financial due diligence for investors. 

DNV is a global provider of services for managing risk, helping customers to safely and responsibly improve their business performance. Established in 1864, this independent foundation has its headquarters in Norway, with a network of over 300 offices in 100 countries. DNV has main offices in countries with growing wind markets such as India, China, Canada, and Brazil, as well as Houston in the U.S. and multiple locations in Europe.

For our customers, this merger will provide expanded service offerings, capabilities, and international reach. It will bring together European and North American expertise in wind energy, as well as provide an infrastructure for growth in wind markets around the globe. The combined organization will offer an unparalleled array of wind energy services to a wind project’s entire life-cycle, including both on-shore and off-shore technology applications.
